Forty year old Elon Musk is the founder of SpaceX Rocket Company.
Elon is a proven and driven business man. His fame and major wealth came from the sale
of his second successful business, Pay Pal, to E-Bay for $1.5 billion! During one televised interview he was asked
why did he not take the proceeds from Pay Pal and buy himself an island in the
Caribbean? He replied "What would I do then?" Elon is driven to give back and to leave a
legacy. Some people collect coins, Elon
collects companies!
SpaceX has two rockets
and a capsule that have been flown successfully: the Falcon 1 rocket, the Falcon
9 rocket, and the Dragon capsule. All,
including the engines and thrusters, are manufactured by SpaceX. Later this year (2011) a Dragon capsule launched
on a Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to deliver cargo to the International Space
Station! Elon also plans one day to carry
astronauts to orbit!!
Two
of Elon's current other businesses involvements are SolarCity which
manufactures solar panels for clean energy and Tesla Motors which manufactures
electric cars. Elon produces clean
energy to power clean cars and also explores space to satisfy mankind's
curiosity.
With
this presentation Ron's goal is to share the excitement created by this
visionary. Elon puts his money where his
mouth is by being the leader of his revolutionary companies.
